Countdown to InterTabac and InterSupply 2019
Staff Report
InterTabac, the world’s largest trade fair for tobacco products and smoking accessories, and InterSupply, which takes place alongside InterTabac with a specific focus on the products, services, and machines for the production of tobacco goods and e-cigarettes, takes place September 20-22, 2019 in Dortmund, Germany. In the countdown to these two important annual events, we take a look at some highlights to look forward to.
New Hall Entrance
First, there is a new north entrance to the Westfalenhallen exhibition center in Dortmund.
“The new, transparent 4,500 sqm entrance hall to the Westfalenhallen exhibition site is an eye-catcher that proves Dortmund to be a modern exhibition and convention location,” said Ullrich Sierau, Lord Mayor of Dortmund. “Dortmund and the Westfalenhallen Group present themselves in an attractive light with this investment in the millions. The facelift of the Dortmund exhibition center shines far beyond the region.”
Sabine Loos, c.e.o. of Westfalenhallen Unternehmens gruppe GmbH, said, “With the new north entrance to the exhibition site, the new visitor passageway, and the converted exhibition forecourt, we have reached a milestone in making the location even more attractive and fit for continued competitiveness. We fulfill the expectations of modern organizers, exhibitors, and visitors by offering more services and contemporary design. Trade fairs with visitor registration will particularly benefit. We also convey a strong image to the increasing number of international exhibitors and visitors.”
New Names
The North Entrance is not the only new thing in Dortmund this year. There are new company names – the exhibition center’s company is now called Messe Dortmund GmbH. There are some changes to the hall names, too: Westfalenhalle 1 is now Hall WH, Hall 2 is now Hall 1, Hall 2U is now Hall 1U, Hall 2N is now Hall 1B, Hall 3A is now Hall 2, and Hall 3B is now Hall 3. Halls 4-8 remain the same.
Exhibitors from China
With less than three months to go to until showtime, the show — which occupies the entire Dortmund exhibition complex of nine halls — is virtually sold out with limited availability in Hall 3 (InterSupply). Of over 600 exhibitors from 55 countries, 170 are from Germany. But the country providing the second largest number of exhibitors by far is China, with almost 90 companies signed up with varying amounts of space.
Here are just of the few highlighted companies exhibiting from China this year.
