British American Tobacco (BAT) has opened a new leaf processing facility in Nadi and signed-up more than 600 farmers to grow tobacco leaf this year.
Tobacco farming continues to grow in the country as more Fijians are now venturing into it. BAT has invested over US$2 million over the years on farmers inclusive of subsidies. According to BAT, at least 650 farms are located around the country employing approximately 600 Fijians.
