UK
Smokers in the UK can no longer buy smaller packs of cigarettes and rolling tobacco. This ban on small packs is a part of a longer plan to phase out menthol cigarettes entirely by 2020.
Under new tobacco laws, which took effect May 21, smaller bags (under 30g) of roll-your-own tobacco and ten-packs of cigarettes are banned. The phasing out of small packs by the government began last May when packaging was standardized, but shops had a year to get rid of old stock.
The ban is also extended to some flavored cigarettes and roll-your-own tobacco, including fruit, spice, herbs, alcohol, candy, or vanilla.A complete ban on menthol-flavored cigarettes is set for May 20, 2020.
