TURKEY
Turkey’s deputy prime minister Recep Akdag says the government is preparing a bill that will expand the ban on the sale of tobacco products.
The new law will also prohibit the sale of tobacco products at the cashier in stores. Bans on the use of tobacco products have been in effect in Turkey since January 2015, adopted under a state program against smoking.
In 2008 a ban on smoking in public places came into effect. The penalty for smoking in public and enclosed places is TRY88 (US$23.19).
