British American Tobacco (BAT) is launching two new tobacco heating products, Glo Pro and Glo Nano, in Japan, following the earlier launch of the Glo Sens in Tokyo. Glo Pro and Glo Nano will come with new heating technologies and slimmer sizes and will be available in Japan from October.
The introduction of these new HNB products is part of new c.e.o, Jack Bowles,’ plan to slim down the company’s “new categories” business to just three brands, including Glo.
Nomura analysts said the HNB market nearly doubled in Japan in 2018 from the year earlier, with Philip Morris International’s iQOS commanding a 71.8% share of the market, followed by BAT’s Glo products at 20.1% and Japan Tobacco Inc.’s Ploom Tech at 8.1%.
