CANADA
The Canadian government is considering putting a cancer warning label on every individual cigarette stick sold in the country. If passed, this will make Canada the first country in the world to do so.
Regulators are considering the design elements, such as size, wording, font, and color of the warning labels. Suggested wording includes “smoking causes cancer.” Regulators are also considering applying the labeling requirements to cigarette tobacco, leaf tobacco, cigarillos, kretek, and tobacco sticks.
