All the major parties in the European elections broadly support the idea of e-cigarette regulation instead of bans.
According to the European Popular Party (EPP), the center-right was not in favor of banning the sales of vaping products, however, was in favor of a specific taxation system for them. The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) is also against a ban on the products but believes that their impact on public health should be monitored.
The socialists endorse the idea of a tax on e-cigarettes as well, while the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party (ALDE) said their party does not support the idea of regulating the devices as medicinal products as this would increase their prices.
