Due to the coronavirus, the only major show that Tobacco Asia planned on attending that has been cancelled so far is IECIE-Shenzhen Ecig Expo. Originally scheduled for Apr. 24-26 in Shenzhen China. The show is “postponed” but no new dates have been announced. The same organizer’s IECIE-Shanghai Ecig Expo is on track to be held as scheduled Nov. 16-18 in Shanghai.
The annual TFWA Asia Pacific exhibition, originally scheduled for May 10-14, 2020 in Singapore has been cancelled. This tax free/travel retail exhibition will return in 2021.
Tobacco Asia never missed the major tri-annual packaging exhibition INTERPACK (), to be held May 7-13, 2020 in Dusseldorf, Germany. According to the organizer’s website, the show will still be held as scheduled, but they are monitoring developments.
The next 100% tobacco exhibition Tobacco Asia is looking forward to attending is World Tobacco Europe. A representative for Quartz Business Media, the organizers of the WT Process and Machinery exhibitions assured Tobacco Asia that “[they] are confident that WT Europe will take place in Sofia [Bulgaria] as planned from May 27-28, 2020.
In related news, Quartz recently completed the acquisition of well-known Tabexpo tobacco exhibition, which was last held in 2019 in Amsterdam. Our contact at Quartz said they plan on mounting the next Tabexpo in London in two years which indicates that they are increasing Tabexpo from its once-every-four-years frequency.
