Covid-19’s upheaval in tobacco-related exhibitions and conferences continues with the following recent developments. Of course, it was announced long ago that InterTabac/InterSupply 2020 was postponed for one year to September 16-18, 2021.
However, Messe Dortmund GmbH, the organizers of InterTabac and InterSupply, arguably the tobacco industry’s most important annual events identified a need among its customers that they develop a new concept to bridge the gap between now and the 2021 show.
ITShub – New Hybrid Event
Messe Dortmund introduced a new compact exhibition and conference format, ITShub, a hybrid event that enables both on-site and virtual presence, scheduled to take place November 3-4, 2020 with Covid-compliant measures in place. ITShub combines the onsite exhibitors and conference with an accompanying digital/virtual platform.
ITShub offers participating companies the opportunity to present their products, innovations, services, and offers onsite in Dortmund using attractive “presence spots”. The presence spots will be flanked by two stages on which panel discussions, lectures on current and future-oriented topics of the tobacco industry, and an international interactive exchange will take place.
Those who do not have the opportunity to visit in person can participate virtually – this applies equally to companies and participants. Companies that cannot be on-site can present themselves online in the virtual exhibition. Participants have the opportunity to join in live and experience everything that happens live on site.
Visitors will be able to register for a visit on-site from around mid-September via the homepage www.its-hub-dortmund.com. The virtual visit is free of charge.
Information about the event and the exhibitor packages can be viewed at www.its-hub-dortmund.de/en-gb/about-the-event. (For further information from the Asia region, contact Glenn Anthony John gaj@octobermultimedia.com. )
CORESTA Congress – New Online Format
Following the June announcement of the cancellation of the scheduled biannual CORESTA Congress which was to be held in Vienna, Austria, CORESTA will now be taking place entirely in an online format during October 12-November 12, 2020. The 2020 CORESTA Online Congress will be open for free to all CORESTA member organizations and their members. Non-members are asked to contact the CORESTA Secretariat at www.coresta.org/contact.
The theme for the congress is “Integrated Science: Opportunities and Challenges.”
WT Europe – Postponed to 2021
WT Europe 2020 Sofia, the follow-up to Quartz Media’s initial event in Eastern Europe in 2018, will now take place in on November-24-25, 2021. The 2021 event will feature the exhibition of suppliers to the industry and accompanying conference and networking.
Tobacco Plus Expo – New Dates
Tobacco Plus Expo (TPE) has been postponed a few months and will now take place on May 12-14, 2021 instead of the last week of January as usual. This growing hybrid event featuring tobacco products, e-cigarettes, cigars, CBD, and suppliers is normally the first event of the year in the tobacco exhibition calendar.
