Robert Victor Seares, Jr. is appointed administrator and c.e.o. of the Philippines’ National Tobacco Administration (NTA), succeeding his father, Robert Seares, Sr., who died on March 19 this year.
Seares, Jr., a former municipal mayor in Abra, vowed to continue the programs that his father started as well as protect the welfare of tobacco farmers.
Among these projects is the sustainable tobacco enhancement program’(STEP). The five-year development program aims to improve the productivity of the tobacco industry and enhancing farmer income.
