InterTabac, the world’s largest trade fair for tobacco products and smoking accessories alongside InterSupply, the international trade fair covering the production of tobacco goods, has set a new visitor record with 13,800 guests this year. Approximately 42% of the visitors came abroad, including from the US, China, Chile, South Africa, Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Turkey.
The two shows, which took place September 20-22, 2019, saw 520 exhibitors from 47 countries in InterTabac and 120 exhibitors from 35 countries in InterSupply take over about 40,000 sqm of exhibition space in the halls of the Dortmund Exhibition Centre.
As in previous years, there was great interest at InterTabac for next-generation products (NGP), which this year filled the entire Westfalenhalle event arena and Halls 1 and 2 of the Dortmund Exhibition Centre. Trade visitors visited the exhibition stands to admire the latest e-cigarette hardware, to test innovations in the vape segment, and to try out the popular smokeless products, such as chewing tobacco. A similar situation could be seen at the shisha stands in Hall 8 and a part of Hall 6.
In InterSupply, trade visitors were amazed by the modern production machinery and new tobacco production services showcased at the show. For example, there was a lot to see in the classic tobacco segment, ranging from FSC©-certified wood packaging to food-safe inks. The range of packaging and processing topics in this area was also comprehensive. The visitors at the trade fair were also highly satisfied with the diverse range of raw tobacco, aromas, and flavors used in production.
The premiere of the new program of lectures and seminars that supported this year’s trade fair was also very well received by visitors. “Thanks to the accompanying program, InterTabac is now much more than an important order placement platform. It sets new standards for the national and international exchange of trade information. Accordingly, visitors can ideally prepare and pave the way for future business activities here,” said Sabine Loos, c.e.o. of Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe GmbH.
