Philip Morris International (PMI) and British American Tobacco (BAT) have both been recognized as Global Top Employers. This year marks the third time PMI has received this recognition in 49 countries – the largest number to date, and the second time for BAT in 43 countries markets - an increase from 2018 - across five regions: Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Middle East.
“Today is a very proud day for us at PMI. We’ve been named as a Global Top Employer for the third year in a row, achieved the Regional Top Employer label in five regions for the second time, and achieved top employer status for more PMI country teams than ever before,” said Charles Bendotti, PMI senior vice president, people, and culture. “We’re a company in transformation on a journey to meet our bold vision of a smoke-free world. Our people play a tremendous role in that transformation and I want to thank them for their dedication and continued commitment to making PMI a great place to work – one that is vibrant, inclusive and which offers lots of opportunities to its staff. This is what makes PMI an employer of choice.”
Giovanni Giordano, Group HR director at BAT, said, “Receiving Global Top Employer certification, for the second year running, is a great honor as it acknowledges our commitment to creating an inclusive and innovative working environment where our people have exciting development opportunities and can bring their diverse experiences, skillsets, and ideas to the table. To be recognized as a top employer in 43 markets is a fantastic achievement. We have always believed that our people and their talents are essential to our success - and in this exciting period of transformation and change at BAT, I am delighted that our continued work to invest in our people has been recognized in this way.”
